Fostering a love of learning from a young age
In Greater Lincoln, we want children to embrace education and get as much as they can from our schooling system. This means making sure they have a positive experience right from day one, whether they're entering education at the age of four or even earlier.
For the early years, a wide range of pre-schools, privately run nurseries and crèches are available in the region. At this age it's all about keeping children safe and happy, getting them used to being away from home and eager to try new things. It's the perfect way to prepare for school and a trusted resource for working parents.
When the big day comes, there are a number of education options for age 4 to 11 year olds. Parents have an excellent choice here of infant schools (age 4 to 7), junior schools (age 7 to 11) and primary schools (age 4 to 11), whether in the independent or state sector.
The region also offers one academy for this age group; The Priory Witham Academy in Lincoln which takes children between the age of four and 18, and also has a nursery class.
