Low congestion and easy access to the rest of the country

A huge contribution to quality of life in Lincoln is the region's relative lack of congestion, with quieter roads meaning reduced commuting time for a better work/life balance and quicker, easier business travel. The main business and residential centres are linked by an excellent trunk road network to the major A1 and M180 routes. These give direct access to London and the South of the country (within two hours), as well as major cities in the Midlands and the North, including Nottingham, Leeds and Sheffield within an hour, and Birmingham, Newcastle and Manchester within two hours.
