The University of Lincoln is proud of its distinctive reputation for research, which is integrated with excellence in teaching and learning and underpinned by community and employer engagement. Offering courses ranging from foundation degrees to PhDs, the University boasts a wealth of expertise; in the Research Assessment Exercise (RAE 207) it performed particularly well in Computer Science and Informatics and Communication, Cultural and Media Studies, where a significant proportion of research was judged as world-leading and internationally excellent (3* and 4*), the highest available ratings.
A state-of-the-art new School of Engineering is planned to open at the University. Focusing on industrial power and energy, it’s the first of its kind to be built in more than 20 years in the UK. It’s designed to meet the high demand for engineers in the city, indeed in the whole region, where traditionally there are large numbers of engineering and related businesses.
Also part of the University is Riseholme College, the agriculture, animal-related and biological science campus. The campus is home to a modern, purpose-built Rural Science Centre which houses the animal care unit and equine facilities.
